Terms & Disclaimer
Cleaner is a file-deletion tool. This page spells out what that means legally — and practically — before you press Clean.
Cleaner deletes files when you tell it to. Review the preview before every clean, keep the recycle-bin default on for things that matter, protect the paths you can't lose, and keep backups — because a file-deletion tool doing its job is not a defect, and the terms below say that in lawyer-speak.
Acceptance #
By downloading, installing, or using Cleaner ("the Software"), you agree to these terms and to the MIT License, which is the governing license for the Software. If you don't agree, don't use it — and the uninstaller makes leaving painless.
What the Software does #
Cleaner is a utility that identifies and, at your explicit direction, permanently deletes files and folders from your computer. That is its purpose. Depending on your settings it may:
- Move files to the Windows recycle bin (default behavior),
- Permanently delete files, or
- Securely overwrite files (3-pass erase), which is irreversible.
You are responsible for reviewing every scan preview before confirming a clean, choosing appropriate filters and directories, configuring the protected-paths list for anything you can't afford to lose, and maintaining your own backups.
No warranty #
The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. No guarantee is made that the Software will be error-free, that every scan result is safe to delete, or that the Software is suitable for your particular use.
Limitation of liability #
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the authors and copyright holders shall not be liable for any claim, damages, data loss, loss of profits, business interruption, or other liability arising from or in connection with the Software or its use — including, without limitation, the deletion or corruption of files, whether caused by defect, misconfiguration, or misuse.
Deletion actions you confirm are your responsibility. The software's safety defaults (dry-run previews, recycle-bin deletion, confirmations, and protected paths) reduce risk; they do not eliminate it.
Automated and scheduled use #
Features such as scheduled scans, auto-clean, Task Scheduler
integration, startup integration, and the command-line
--yes / --force
flags can delete files without an interactive prompt.
By enabling them you accept sole responsibility for every action
they take on your behalf, and you should verify that targets,
filters, and protected paths are configured correctly beforehand.
No professional advice #
Nothing on this website or in the Software constitutes professional, legal, security, or technical advice. Scan results and recommendations are informational; the decision of what to delete is yours.
Third-party services #
This site links to GitHub, Ko-fi, and Google Fonts, which are operated by third parties under their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
Changes #
These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version lives on this page and in the repository; continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance.
